These 3-hour workshops are intended to give participants an introduction to or review of the fundamental principles and skills of Nonviolent Communication, with several opportunities to practice applying these on personally-relevant situations.
In case you missed it: What is NVC?
Participants
These events are intended for those who have no prior experience with NVC and for those with experience who are seeking a review. Reading the Nonviolent Communication book (3rd Edition) is suggested, but not necessary before attending.
Duration
These workshops tend to be 3 to 4 hours long, with a break half way through.
Agenda
A typical introductory workshop may look like this:
- Introduction of the teachers

- Intro to the first concept: Observations versus Evaluations
- Intro to the second concept: Feelings versus Thoughts
- Break
- Intro to the third concept: Needs versus Strategies
- Intro to the fourth concept: Requests versus Demands
